Brighton & Hove Albion have extended their contract with former England international midfielder Mac Allister until the end of the 2027 season, following his impressive performances for the club over the past two seasons. Allister joined Brighton from Liverpool in 2016 and has since become one of the most influential players on the team, scoring 44 goals in all competitions this season. He is known for his clinical strike rate and his ability to create chances, and has been instrumental in helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League. The deal was announced by manager Graham Potter during a press conference earlier this week, with Allister looking set to extend his stay at the Hawthorns beyond the end of the current campaign. "It's great that we've got Mac here," said Potter. "He's done really well for us and he's a fantastic player who's played really well this season." Allister's performance has also earned him praise from fellow teammates, with some claiming that he has taken his game to another level this term. "Mac is always going to be an important part of our squad," said defender Samir Nasri. "He's been a key player for us this season, and I'm sure he'll continue to do so." The move comes just weeks after the club announced that they had reached a new agreement with Allister, which saw him earn a new three-year contract worth £2m per year. The club have already paid the fee, but it remains to be seen how much of a boost Allister's signing will bring to their squad. Overall, the extension of Allister's contract is a positive development for Brighton & Hove Albion, as it shows that the club is committed to their player and their success. The club will now look forward to seeing what Allister can achieve next season, and hopefully he will continue to make an impact for the club in the years to come. |
