Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first defeat of the season as they fell to a 0-1 loss against Brentford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The game was always going to be a tough one for Spurs, who were without several key players due to injury and suspension. However, they were still expected to come out strong and try to secure all three points. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case as Brentford took the lead early on through a well-taken goal from Ben White. The visitors looked dangerous throughout the match and were able to create plenty of chances, while Spurs struggled to find any form of rhythm or creativity. Conte made two changes to his team before kick-off, bringing on Son Heung-min and Dele Alli in place of Tanguy Ndombele and Lucas Moura, respectively. But it was too little, too late as Brentford held on to win their first league match of the season. Despite the disappointing result, there were some positives to take away from the match. Spurs had plenty of opportunities to score, but ultimately failed to convert them into goals. They also showed resilience and determination despite being behind, which is something Conte will want to build upon moving forward. Overall, this was a tough defeat for Tottenham, but there is still time to bounce back and turn things around. Conte will need to make sure his team stays focused and works hard if they want to avoid further disappointment. |
