The new La Liga season has seen strict penalties imposed on referees who dive during games, with the Spanish football league introducing a new system to prevent such behavior.

Under the new rules, any referee found guilty of diving will be given a minimum penalty of two yellow cards and may face further punishment if they repeat the behavior in future matches.

This is part of a wider effort by the Spanish league to improve the quality of officiating in its top flight competition, which has been plagued by controversy over recent years.

Referees have long been accused of favoring certain teams or players, with some even going as far as deliberately fouling their opponents in order to give them advantage.

In response to this, the La Liga has introduced a number of measures aimed at improving the standard of refereeing.

These include the introduction of video助理裁判系统 (VAR) to help referees make more accurate decisions, as well as the implementation of new training programs designed to improve their understanding of the game and their ability to call plays correctly.

With these reforms in place, it's hoped that the quality of refereeing in La Liga will improve, leading to a safer and more enjoyable matchday experience for fans.
